Jan Massey

 

Jan Massey (Jane Ann Yannaco) passed away April 4, at the age of 65 in Bronxville, New York. Jan was born in The Bronx N.Y. on July 30th, 1954 and was the oldest daughter of Arthur and Jane Yannaco. For the past 30 years she has lived in Crestwood NY raising and taking care of her family. Jan was a devoted mother, wife, sister, coworker and friend. She is survived by her best friend and husband Al Moncada, her children Tom, Mary and Mike, her siblings Theresa Yannaco, Arthur V. Yannaco (Nancy), Mary Delaney (James), sister-in-law Chris (Allen) Laufer, and her nephews Artie, Chris, John, Jim, Joseph and Daniel. She will also be remembered by her extended Massey family whom she loved dearly. Jan loved taking care of the people around her and made sure dinner was on the table every night. (She made the best chicken cutlets). She has spent the last few years working full time and taking care of her husband who has been ill. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother to her children and their friends, whom she considered part of her family. Jan worked for Merrill Lynch-Bank of America in White Plains, NY for over 20 years, where she will be fondly remembered.

 

Jan was an active member of the the Crestwood Community and Annunciation Parish, where she was the previously the head of the ladies Guild. Jan graduated from The Academy of Mount St. Ursula High School in the Bronx and was a passionate advocate for women's rights. She loved the beach, NY sports and Broadway and could recite every lyric to "Hamilton". Jan will be remembered for her selfless devotion to her family and will be sorely missed.

Alfonso Moncada

 

Alfonso (Al) Moncada passed away Sunday April 12, just two weeks before his 70th birthday. Al was born in Brooklyn NY on April 27th to Alfonso Moncada and Rosaria Bracco. Al is predeceased by his beloved wife of 27 years Jan, who passed just 8 days prior. They lived in Crestwood NY. Al served in the Airforce during Vietnam as an Aeronautical engineer. After his service, Al worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Rooms of St. John's Riverside Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center's Moses Division. He is survived by his step-children Tom, Mary and Mike Massey, his sister Chris (Allen) Laufer, his nieces Kayla and Rebecca and his nephew Josh. Al was an avid musician and played the bass. He loved riding his bike, fishing, and his 4 pound Yorkie, Jada. Al graduated from Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers and attended John Jay High School in Brooklyn. He will be remembered for his huge heart and kind smile. A celebration of Al's life will be held at a later date. In memory of Al, donations can be made to "Heroes Among Us" an organization committed to supporting and providing hope to veterans by offering assistance for their everyday needs.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Sinatra Memorial Home on Friday July 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Followed by a burial of ashes at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
