Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard A. Coyne, 62, of Yonkers, NY passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 after a short but tough battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife Deborah (nee Hebert) Coyne. Richard (Ricky) was born on July 14, 1958 in Yonkers to the late Raymond Coyne and Claire (nee Schlaepfer) Coyne. Ricky was raised and educated in Yonkers NY, graduating from Roosevelt High School. After high school, Ricky worked at various printing shops until he started doing what he loved the most, being an auto mechanic. Ricky started working as an auto mechanic in 1980 at various gas stations until 2001 when he started his employment with the City of Yonkers, DPW, Teamster Local 456, until he was force to retire due to his cancer diagnosis in 2020. Ricky retired on August 22, 2020. Ricky used to enjoy bowling when he was younger and was on several leagues over the course of his life. Every summer he enjoyed planting a little tomato and cucumber garden. Ricky was always known as the guy on the block with the beautiful lawn. Ricky took pride in his accomplishments and was a very hard worker. If he didn't know how to fix it, he would look it up and play around with it until he got it right. He was the nicest guy you could ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back. He used to help anybody and everybody even if they didn't ask. When it snowed he would shovel out the elderly neighbors and they would love to repay him with some homemade macaroni. He had a great sense of humor, always had a corny joke to tell. Ricky started dating Debbie in 1979 and they married on April 24, 1982, they were married for 38 and together for 41 years. His wife retired 4 years ago and was waiting until next year in July for Ricky to retire so they could go on more cruises and enjoy their retirement and grow old together. In addition to his wife, Ricky is survived by his father-in-law Joesph Hebert, his brother-in-law Joe Hebert and Peter DiLemme, 3 nephews, James (Stacey), Connor and Cameron Hebert. Great-nephew Owen Hebert and Great Niece Evie Hebert. Cousins Kathy, Diana, Joseph and Margaret. Ricky is predeceased by his parents, his sister Patricia DiLemme, his nephew Peter DiLemme, Jr., all of his Aunts and Uncles on both his mother and fathers side of the family.
