As my son Andrew said , Jack always lighted up the room with his presence and was such an amazing person. We will be forever grateful for knowing Jack during this year. We were so blessed that he could spend some time with us this summer. Such a beautiful young man with many gifts and talents. Andrew will always be carrying Jack with him at SU. Sending all of our love to your family, we are heartbroken by his loss. We will all miss you Jack but you will never be forgotten. Xoxo

That summer when we met the children in northern Michigan is what sticks in my mind. It was fun for all of us, the cousins and their own children. People talk about mother-daughter relationships as being special, but less often do we acknowledge that father-son relationships also are unique. This sudden loss touches the web of people who all are connected to Jack. It is that same web that can share the heavy weight of this burden. Let us all hold firmly together.

I have many wonderful memories of Jack but the the times we spent together during Thanksgiving and Christmas I hold close to my heart. He was always front and center with his cousins. He could get them all smiling, laughing, and giggling with a look, a slight tilt of his head, and then came the eyebrow lift. They danced, told spooky stories, played board games, video games, hiked, and played in the snow. Jack shined his beautiful, happy, joyful light into our hearts and there he will forever live.
