A great loss for the Church, and for his family and all those he touched. His fluency in Italian as an “O’Reilly” was impressive and we so looked forward to his gospel stories on Sundays. He really enjoyed conversing in Italian after Mass at Our Lady of Pompeii. A great man, a great priest. RIP. Linda and Len Guglielmo

It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of Father Kevin. My children loved his masses at our Lady of Pompei. They would always talk about his homilies on the ride home from church. He left such an impression and was a true apostle of Christ. May the Lord open the gates of heaven for him and grant him eternal rest. Our deepest condolences to the entire family especially his parents.

I remember Fr. O'Reilly's uncle, Fr. William Creaven, at St. Barnabas from 1960-1965. He gave my sister her first Holy Communion in 1961. Fr. Creaven was a wonderful priest. When I heard that he was Fr. O'Reilly's uncle, I thought, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". I was shocked to have heard of Fr. O'Reilly's death on Monday, from my friend, Rose, as I had just attended Fr. O'Reilly's 7:30 A.M. Mass, on Sunday, January 31st, at St. Barnabas. I also remember telling him after all of his Masses that it was another wonderful homily. In his most humble way, he replied, "Thank you very much". If we only become half as wonderful a person as Fr. O'Reilly was, we will have accomplished a great deal! To me, and to many more, Fr. O'Reilly is already a saint. May we pray for him and to him. We all know he was one of God's "Good and Faithful Servants".

I will miss you your great stories during your great homilies. We will surely miss you in OLQM. I am humbled that you enjoyed my singing and guitar playing during the Pandemic Mass split. You would tell me every Sunday how beautiful it was. I hope you are now playing for the Lord and that you found a Taylor Guitar like mine in heaven!
I pray for you, Fr.Dan, our great friend of many years, & your family on the lost of a great servant! God Bless!

Kevin was one of the very first classmates I met in September 1983 at Regis. We were two of the four Kevins in 1B-2. As Mr. Driscoll said with 17 young men in our homeroom all 4 Kevins in the class of '87 were in the same homeroom; one had a 1/4 chance of guessing right if you just called him Kevin. Kevin and I became good friends over the years and I remember his funny stories; in 1985 he studied in Austria and there was no sign of tennis whatsoever but the Monday after Boris Becker won Wimbledon Kevin had never seen so many tennis rackets! I was eager for him to meet my fiancee in 1992 and the three of us had a great day in Manhattan. It meant a lot as he pulled me aside and said congratulations you hooked yourself a real winner. Now Shelly and Fr. Kevin are praying for us all and I want to offer my prayers for Kevin and the O'Reilly family. Words can't describe how surprised I was to receive the news. Please let Kevin's example in life demonstrate that one can be well rounded and accomplished as a son and brother, a friend, a sports fan, a disciple and a scholar. Life is a cherished gift and remember to live each day to your fullest and make sure you end each day at peace with God, yourself and your fellow man.

After Pope John Paul ll, Fr. O’Reilly was the person I admired the most; I always looked for the opportunity to be in one of his class; he was brilliant, and humble, a good fiend to all of his students. It was fun to be one of his students. Rest In Peace Fr. O’Reilly. I will miss you and your kind smile, also your jokes.

I am still at a loss for words about the passing of one of my oldest and dearest friends. I have recently been wondering if he was still a fan of professional wrestling and still played chess (two of our common bonds). While I certainly hope that he did not suffer in his last days, I know that we are far poorer with his passing and that Heaven has gained an amazing angel. Rest well, my friend. You've certainly earned it. However, please keep an eye on all of us down here you miss you immensely.

I am grateful for having had the opportunity to be a student of Fr. O'Reilly for the last few years. In that brief time, I found him to be one of the most vibrant, smart and caring instructors I have ever known. His love of the Lord Jesus Christ, and love of teaching, radiated from him like light from a flame.
His sudden departure has broken countless hearts and It is with immense difficulty that I try to imagine our seminary without him.
With my deepest sympathies to his family and the assurance of my continued prayers,

Father Kevin was a great man of God and he will be sorely missed by the parishioners at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs.
Father Kevin was always so joyful! I remember each time my daughter would have him sign her confirmation papers after mass he always had a funny joke for her. He had such a gift of relating the gospel to something historical and then back again to our present, for both the English and Spanish masses!
May God grant him eternal rest.
