Obituary of Claire V. Novack

Please share a memory of Claire to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Claire V. Novack of Yonkers, NY passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on February 2nd, 2021 at the age of 72. Claire was born on April 25th, 1948 with her twin Carol in New York City. The world lost an incredible human being when God called her home and heaven gained an angel. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and extraordinary woman. Claire traveled into NYC for many years for her occupation as an Administrative Billing Clerk in Bellevue Hospital. Claire had a passion for the beach, enjoyed spending summers in Rhode Island, traveling to Florida and she loved to collect sea shells. She was most at peace when she was near the ocean. She loved to crochet and made the most beautiful handmade blankets for everyone she loved. Claire had a passion for cooking, spending time with her family around the kitchen and created family traditions that her children will use for the rest of their lifetime. Claire is notorious for her meatballs and in fact, the entire family would fight over them. She loved to listen to music and dance. She also loved Sudoku to keep her mind active. Kindness was her language and she gave to anyone in need. Everyone called her for advice. Everything that her children and grandchildren are today is because of the core values she instilled into each and every one of us. She treasured her children and grandchildren and appreciated every moment spent with them. She provided unconditional love to everyone she knew. Babies and dogs loved her! We often referred to her as the "Green Eyed Beauty". Her beauty was not only evident on the outside, but resonated deep within her. We will forever miss her warm kisses and strong hugs. Her personality was vibrant and she had a zest for life. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or holiday card. Her generous spirit and giving nature will never be forgotten. Her loyalty and commitment are evident by the lifelong friendships that she kept for years. She had a heart of gold. She showed her compassion for those she loved by being there before they even asked for help. Her quirky sense of humor made us all laugh and kept us on our toes. One of Claire's favorite sayings was "the first 100 years are the hardest", Ciao Mom, until we meet again. Claire was preceded in death by her father Victor, her mother Leanore and her brother Ernest Don. Claire is survived by her four children and their spouses Robyn & Wilston Thomas, Nicole Potenzo, Michele & Ghazi Abugosh, Vanessa & Karl Bjorkland, her four grandchildren, Taylor Greenberg, Thomas, Nicholas & Julianna Potenzo, as well as her sister Vicki Lee Persichilli, niece Victoria (Keith) Distasio and grandnephew Lucas, her furbaby Pookies, as well as many cousins and friends who loved her dearly. Visitation will be held at Sinatra Funeral Home, located at 499 Yonkers Ave on Wednesday February 17th from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 18th at Immaculate Conception Church, 53 Winterhill Road, Tuckahoe, New York at 9:30 AM.
