So many wonderful memories. I love uncle Pete. Always waiting with just the right comment to make us all laugh.
I remember at Winter Clove in 1976 - we were out for dinner at a restaurant and uncle Pete had just the right comment on the waiter's military style uniform " UP SCOPE."
One year when uncle Pete was visiting our family in Rochester, he and my mother (Mary Lou) were trying to figure out how to blow up an air mattress using the vacuum cleaner. They were laughing like children and not getting very far with the mattress.
For me he was always a highlight an any gathering. Quiet and loving; quick witted and funny.

Words cannot express the amount of sorrow I feel for the loss of Uncle Pete; an amazing Uncle, a loving godfather, and a witty friend. There are so many memories that I hold near and dear to my heart, too many to possibly express here! Uncle Pete was like a father to me. He took me on many trips, played with me endlessly, taught me so many valuable lessons, spent endless hours talking with me, and truly listened to everything I had to say. I loved our conversations together and I was truly honored when we could make the dream come true of Uncle Pete finally coming back to Philly to see his old stomping grounds and Alma Mater, Drexel. He made me feel seen and I knew the love that we had for each other was endless and abundant. In fact, we, as well as Aunt Christina, had a phrase that we would say to each other at the end of every call and correspondence; "I love you more than anything else in the whole wide world." That phrase, those 12 little words, mean the world to me and not a day goes by that I do not think about Uncle Pete and the immense love that he has and will continue to share with me. As I sit here writing this paragraph, I can't help but laugh at the many hilarious moments we shared together; whether it was the choice words I may have picked up (and still use today), the many frustrations with opening Christmas packages and the excessive amount of tape everyone used to wrap the gifts, ski trips in Vermont, drives in the car listening to oldies (which I still listen to today and refer to these hits as "Uncle Pete music"), or just laying around with Uncle Fluffy (although I do not completely remember where this name came from). I will forever cherish the many memories, stories, and laughter we shared and I will perpetually hold his consciousness and spirit close to my heart. I am immensely grateful to have had Uncle Pete as not only an Uncle but also a spectacular godfather! Thank you, Uncle Pete, for being you and being such a positive force in my life! Although I may not be able to physically see you, I know you will forever be by my side and I have just gained another guardian angel. ILYMTAEITWWW

Christina what can I say! I know what you are going through and my heart breaks for you. I am just happy knowing first hand what a wonderful marriage you and Pete had. Made my life a lot easier when you two met because I felt responsible for your well being here in the USA at that time. Lol. Meeting Pete took that weigh off my shoulders. lol.
Pete - I don’t think there will ever be a day when you are not in our thoughts. We have so many happy memories with you. I laughed hysterically when I read Mary Lou’s memory of you chopping down the tree. We have talked about that day so many times over the years. Saying almost the same thing . Another time there was the VCR you were trying to hook up. You were on the floor for hours trying to turn it on. Getting more and more frustrated. Esther and I walked in. We were going to just back out the door when Esther said “did you try turning the power button on Pete”?. The look on your face was priceless. You couldn’t believe you hadn’t thought of that.
One of Pete’s memories of me over the years that he never let me forget was when I baked a cake for Christina’s birthday. This was before they got married. He would chuckle every time he mentioned it to me. It was a 2 layer Strawberry Cake with pink icing. I put so much icing in the middle and on top because I thought that was the best part. I put it on a nice decorative plate. I told everyone to go into the living room. I got it all displayed on a nice decorative platter, put the candles on and started singing Happy Birthday while I was carrying it in. The top layer starting sliding little by little with every step I took. Just like candid camera. It was a complete mess before Christina got to blow out the candles. Pete at the time told me it was the best cake he ever had even though it looked liked the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Lol. (He was lying just to make me feel good. Everyone in the family knows I am not Betty Crocker).
Christina you and Pete hit the jackpot the day you met. TG for Tork Time Control where you first seen each other. Not many couples can say they literally spent 24 hours together every single day. You were so blessed in all the years you spent together. Traveling, all those family reunions that you celebrated in different states every thanksgiving, entertaining with friends galore. The perfect couple. We are missing you here on earth Pete but not in spirit. You will always be with us. We love you Christina.
Our condolences Christina and Mary Lou. You are in our thoughts and prayers always!

My condolences to you Christina. I am very sorry for your loss. I got to hang out with Pete quite a few times over the years in Dublin when we became brother in laws, twice in New York and a very nice week when you both came to visit us in Greece. Throughout that time I had the chance to speak a lot with Pete. I realised that he was a very kind and gentle person. He was delighted answering my endless questions about New York and I enjoyed his cocktails. You were such wonderful person Pete and I will always remember you. Rest in peace. Love Nikos ( the Greek)

Christina there really are no words to express how both Danny and I feel. We love you and Pete so much. We will always have all of our great memories and stomach hurting laughs. Like the time on the Jersey shore beach, the time Danny fell off the chair, and the "Judy Garland" night, laughing so hard we almost had an accident. We love you Pete...May you RIP and always be watching over us and still laughing with us.

I was so sorry to hear that Uncle Pete had passed away and heartbroken for Aunt Christina. I remember the trip to New York to visit you and I would try to torment Uncle Pete by tickling his feet and jumping on the bed when he was trying to go to sleep but nothing like that could torment him. He thought it was hilarious and I thought it was the best game ever. He was such a lovable person and a joker. Thinking of you makes me smile and I will always have wonderful memories of you. I know you will be looking down on us all and watching out for us. I will be counting on you during my exams. Love you. Rest in Peace Uncle Pete.
Love Lydia

Very saddened to hear about the loss of Uncle Pete and our thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Christina and all of Uncle Pete’s family. Uncle Pete was such a nice, warm and kind hearted man who would always have time for his nieces and nephews when he and Aunt Christina came to Ireland or when we visited New York. I’m so grateful Alice got to meet her great Uncle Pete over FaceTime with both of them smiling and waving at each other, it is a memory that will stay with me forever. Rest in peace Uncle Pete, lots of love , Garreth, Emily and Alice (Dublin/Ireland)

Who could ask for a better brother than Peter??? We were a close family ----- except when we had a disagreement and it became TWO AGAINST ONE of us kids. It all ended up OK!|
Every October we spent a week-end ~ the Rivers and the Reifsnyders with Christina and Pete at Aspenwald.l Those were the very BEST.
My plan is to plant a tree in my yard in Peter's memory. It will be a reminder of the one that Pete chopped down in his own yard nd let fall on his foot crushing the bones in one of his heels! A LumberJack - he wasn't.
May Peter bring his humor into Heaven. They've been waiting for him!!

My sympathies to Christina and Pete’s sister Marylou. I have many happy memories of fun times with Pete and Christina and hope we can all continue to remember and share those times together way into the future. Thank you Pete for all the love and joy you brought into my sister Christina’s life. I never had to worry about her being so far away from home once she met you coz it was obvious to all of us that you both lived for the others happiness. Thank you also to all Pete and Christina’s friends for all your support and care for them both in recent times. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad and difficult time. Rest in Peace Pete. Love Angela (Dublin Ireland)

Our best memories with Pete: the quiet one who had the sharpest wit and was our "entertainer." He is a Greisen gem--to always remain with us in our thoughts.
