Obituary of Mary R. DeSantis

Mary went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2021. She was 92 years old. Mary was married to Vito J. DeSantis on April 11, 1948. He predeceased her on September 7, 2001 after 53 years of marriage. She was born and lived in Yonkers all her life. Mary and Vito were residents of Yonkers and Boynton Beach, Florida. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked for the Yonkers Board of Education until her retirement. Mary was an active member of the Italian American Unity Club, serving as President for many years. Mary was a member of the Rosary Alter Society of St. Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers as President and Treasurer. Mary also served for years as a Social Director of Leisure Lake Circle in Boynton Beach. In Florida, she was a member of St. Mark's Church.

Mary was the daughter of the late Louis and Jennie Stelluti. She was predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Maria Michaela, Michael, Salvatore, Matthew, Aniello, Frank and son-in-law James P. Lynch. She leaves behind her two children, Patrick DeSantis of Palm Beach, FL and Luanne DeSantis of Yonkers, NY. Six grandchildren Victor (Tasha) DeSantis, Sabrina (Severin) DeSantis-Sosa, Regina DeSantis (Tony), Mary Jo Lynch (Victor), Jaymie Lynch (Joseph), Trendon Lynch. Nine great grandchildren Lea DeSantis, Daniel Carmona, Victoria Carmona, Karina DeSantis, Matthew DeSantis, Joseph DeSantis, Gabriella DeSantis, Scarlett Sosa, and James Bonadonna and her great great grandson Josiah Gonzalez. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and so many dear friends.

Friends may call the Sinatra Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24 from 2pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew's church in her memory.
