Over 35 years ago, I was fortunate to have been embraced by the Manno family. I was an only child, with no other extended family. I was a teenage stranger, but he welcomed me with open arms and made me part of the family and for that I will be eternally grateful.
My first favorite memory is going to Showcases, in the mid 80’s, drinking free soda and listening to him sing- it blew me away. This punk rocker fell in love with oldies. It was then, I made the early declaration that when I get married I will have a band, not a DJ!
The memory that always makes me laugh, is when I introduced him to my then boyfriend, and he was asking him the usual “dad questions” and then the boyfriend left to wait for me in the car and he goes “Thats your boyfriend??” and I said “yeahhh” and he just laughed and laughed and laughed some more and said “cmon A, he’s gay”. Well…. turns out he was right.-
When my mom passed away 23 years ago, what a comfort it was to have this second family. It started the Every Christmas Eve together (which is the best day of the year in my opinion) and then it included the kids. Christmas Eve evolved in so many ways, but the one constant was his presence.
He has been a witness to my life. He was a living diary. He knew more about me than my own father. (Probably haha) I am and will forever be honored to have been one of the fortunate people to have called him dad.

Dear Margie and Family, I am so sorry to hear about Pinky’s passing. Although we had not seen you in a while, I have fond memories of the times we had together. My fondest memory of him is singing at mine and Dave's wedding. As you know, Dave passed away about 6 months ago. It's a tough road. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Cousin Susan

One of my favorite memories was from the day I met you. It was your 70th birthday, you were giving a speech and you began to cry. It warmed my heart till I realized you were totally fake crying. I looked at Giac and he said and that’s my dad! Such an actor and such a character. I knew you were going to be trouble. <3

When my dad left I started bringing my mom to family functions. She was welcomed with open arms. The bond you shared helped us cope and navigate this new chapter in our lives. With your birthdays being a day apart, I couldn’t believe how similar you are. All drama, a ton of stories and a great sense of humor. She began to call you her brother from another mother and that’s exactly what you were. I am forever grateful for this. Love Willi and Hope

I absolutely LOVED talking to Mr. Manno about school, music, and anytime I was performing in anything. He was always so interested in anything I was doing and always reminded me that no matter what, continue on the road ahead because I could do it. He reminded me every conversation we had, that he was proud of me and to keep using my voice. I will truly miss him, his laugh, and our conversations forever. Rest in Peace Mr. Manno❤️ Love and miss you always, CJ

I think you will agree with me when I say that Jack,
aka Pinky, Dad, Grandpa, Pepa, Unc.
Was one of the greatest men in our lives.
He raised Christopher my soul mate so perfectly well, that I consider myself to forever be in his debt for so graciously accepting me into this Wonderful family.
His kindness, his caring way, his beautiful captivating stories that filled the dining table for hours, will be greatly missed.
What I would give…
He had such an amazing gift to always make everyone feel so special.
May you rest in Forever Peace and may the memories we have of you help us fill that void.
Love you all the muches Dad,
Alely aka Lil <3
