Obituary of Jack Manno
Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Giacchino (Jack) Manno passed away peacefully at his home in Yonkers, NY on October 22, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born on November 26, 1937, in New York City, to Mildred Imbernoso and John Manno. Affectionately nicknamed Pinky, due to the color of his skin when born, his parents gave him "a sense of honor, love and taught him to enjoy everything around him".
He met his wife Margaret at the age of 11, growing up in the same neighborhood. They started dating at the age of 15 and were wed on November 16, 1958 at Our Lady of Solace in the Bronx, NY. His wife was "the love of his life and his heart". They had five beautiful children and family meant everything to Jack!
Jack worked a myriad of jobs and had a great deal of stories for each one of them. While working those various jobs, he always followed his passion of singing. Working in clubs and later on weddings/events, he entertained many. In his later professional career, he was a salesperson, which fit his personality greatly.
If you knew Jack at all, you knew he was an avid Yankees fan. Growing up blocks away from Yankee Stadium gave him the passion for his lifelong fandom and he proudly owned and wore countless hats, shirts, jackets and anything else that had the logo.
Jack is survived by his wife Margaret, his five children, John (Christine) Manno, Chris (Alely) Manno, Lisa (Joe) Annunziata, Michelle Manno and Giac (Hope) Manno. He was also a very proud Pepa to eight grandchildren; Christopher, Francesca, John Michael, Alexandra, Gaetano, Marissa, Jake and Ellie.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
