Mario was my neighbor for 16 years. He was such a friendly, nice man with a great sense of humor. I remember bumping into him many a time at 7 Brothers diner---where he was always engaged in conversation. I referred to him as the MAYOR---and for all these years we laughed about the nickname. My sincere condolences to Mario's family and friends. To a life well lived Mario---may you rest in peace!

Cara Famiglia Giorgio,
Mario was a greatly esteemed family friend. He was the great-grandpa my daughter, Madelyn, so fondly cherished. Mario was one of the most loving and supportive figures to grace our family. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing, but so grateful to have known him in life. His laughter and unwavering sense of humor will always live in our hearts. May He forever Rest In Peace.
Love, Jennifer Marchi-Guzmán

Oh my Mario, This man needs no prayers. I am sure he walked right through those Pearly Gates without passing go. Mario was a life saver for my mother Florence Swetz when she lived at the Michael Malotz Nursing Home. He would bring her the Eucharist every Sunday for all the years while she was there. They would say the Rosery every week and they would end it with the song God Bless America. If Mario was late with the singing, my mother would start. Mario would laugh and tell me about it when I saw him walking around the Nursing Home ,making his rounds. He was good company for my mom and always managed to take time to talk to her. He attended her funeral and gave me a thumbs up when we were leaving the church with the singing of God Bless America, which he would be the only one who would understand. This was a man of smiles and of laughs. Compassion and joy. May his memory be Eternal. God bless Mario and God Bless America !!

I was about 10 years old when Uncle Mario took me to an afternoon game at Yankee Stadium we sat in reserved seats in right field. I felt very special just Uncle Mario and I at Yankee Stadium. The following summer he became my first baseball coach as he was the manager of the Stella Doro cookies. Wonderful memories of a truly wonderful Uncle.
Love, Louis Ferrarese
