I remembered being in bilingual school CS211 in the Bronx and visiting the 48th Precinct. We had a tour and they took our fingerprints. Inspector Renzullo was the first woman police officer we ever met. God Bless her

I wish to send my condolences to the family of Vittoria Renzullo. She was my commanding Officer in the 1st Pct. We went to John Jay college of Criminal Justice at the same time. We become good friends over the years. She was a women of many accomplishments. We both had a love for animals. She was the best commanding officer I had in the New York City Police Dept. She always made me proud of her accomplishments becoming a Lawyer and Doctor. She will be greatly missed.

I have known Vittoria for 73 years- my entire life. My earliest memories take me to a tiny bedroom in the Bronx where my grandma laid out the homemade ravioli to dry on the board on her bed. She was always in that room studying. She never wanted us to call her aunt I would guess because she was so young. She had a great sense of humor always making up jokes and funny nicknames. She was the family historian and our role model. She loved us kids and her precious dogs. She loved the Yankees and opera Marvin Gaye Dave Brubeck and all the Italian folk songs. She was so beautiful with wavy dark hair and a smile that would light up a room. She embraced all peoples and gave of herself to make this world a better place. She was proud of all her great nieces and nephews. She would thank me every day and tell me she was so glad to see me. Her generous nature and humility made her so special. An inspiration to all, her legacy teaches us that family responsibility is an honor and duty, to show compassion and respect for others and to give your absolute best effort in all you do in this life. We have relayed this message to our children and grandchildren She will always be our shining star. May she be basking in the eternal life with her beloved family and dogs. Riposare in Pace, adorata Zia!!

I never knew Vittoria, but wow, what an accomplished "Renaissance Woman" she was. It appears she crammed about five different lifetimes into one! She retired from the NYPD three years before I joined it (1985), but I do remember hearing OF her, and her accomplishments. Truly an amazing woman. Rest in peace, Inspector, you've earned it. We never considered Vittoria as our aunt. She was more like an older sister to us. She seldom mentioned her many accomplishments with the NYPD and later on which are all the more remarkable given that she was the daughter of Italian immigrants. I’ll always remember her taking me to Woolworth’s on Tremont Avenue in the Bronx for my birthday, buying me lunch and then letting me pick out a birthday gift that she would pay for. Although reserved in public, Vittoria had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh when she was with us. Her love of animals, especially dogs is well known and she would always take in those dogs who needed the most help. Elizabeth and l thank you for all you have done and for being a role model and mentor to our daughters, Maria and Dana. Rest In Peace.

My aunt Vittoria inspired me to pursue higher education, never be afraid to change my path at any point in life, and to never limit myself. Her love of animals, especially dogs that someone else may not have given a second look, was something I always admired and inspired me to open my own heart and home to animals that otherwise wouldn’t be adopted. I am eternally honored and grateful to be her great niece.

I never worked with Vittoria but knew well of her. I retired as a lieutenant but completed my Masters thesis about police women and how they develop during their time on the job. I sent her a questionnaire to her as well as other females on the job. She was one of the most intelligent officers I have ever come across. Rest In Peace

I had the privilege of working as a Patrol Officer in the 48 Pct from 1997 to 1981. Most of that time, under the leadership of Commanding Officer DI Renzello. She lead with professionalism, intelligence and integrity. DI Renzello was a role model to all Police Officers but especially the Female POs. She inspired me to study for promotional exams. With all her accomplishments, DI Renzello was a modest person, earning the affectionate nickname “Miss Vicky”. You will always be a legend. Rest In Peace. Retired Lt Terry Brown Brooks.

Vittoria was a friend to me. I am a physician and graduate of NYCOM. I met Vicki when we were both enrolled in an undergraduate class in histology. As we began to get acquainted I learned that she was the CO of the 48th pct in the Bronx. Just so happened that my cousin Louis was a detective under her leadership. We became friends and she served as one of the great inspirations in my life as I pursued my medical career. I am so grateful that our paths crossed and will forever remain indebted for her for the friendship and support she showed me over the years. Her brilliance and more importantly her humble attitude despite all of her tremendous accomplishments will remain with me always. Patrice A. Sonara, DO, MPH
