Peter was a long-time friend of Mary and Bing Chin, who were “around the corner” neighbors. There could not have a kinder, more steadfast friend than Peter. Although Bing, my father, was almost 20 years older than Peter, they shared many similar
experiences that brought them together as friends. Both were proud military vets (my father -WW2, Peter -Vietnam), widows who lost beloved wives, and long-time Park Hill residents. They received services at the same VA hospital, went to the same dialysis center until Peter’s kidney transplant, shared resources for gardeners and repairmen, and
enjoyed eating meals together at local restaurants. Perhaps one of their favorite shared experiences was a dinner at a favorite Italian restaurant where they struck up a conversation with people at the table next to them. Much to their surprise, when they asked for their check, they were told it had been picked up by their neighboring diners as a thank you for their military service. My family was privileged to have known Peter, a loving, optimistic, and exceptionally fine man.
With deepest condolences,
