Everyone is always saying what people did, I'm going to but the other way around. My mom never told us to stop preying at bed time. She never said, your going to this school or that. she never told us who we should date. She never said, you shouldn't join the Army or buy a house. I'm not a collage grad but my daughter is. I own my home. I join the army and get a check and free health insurance for the rest of my life. Thanks mom for the comfortable life you gave me. I'm going to pay it forward. I love you, now and forever.

Q: What will you miss most about Florenz?
A: Gram, I love and miss you to the moon and back. I miss our travels, swims together, our road-trips, and most of all when you curse people out to protect me! That always makes me laugh so hard. I miss all the three course meals with dessert that you cooked for me after school. I also miss the snowball fights while cleaning off Mema’s car. I wish that you were still here. You will be in my heart and thoughts forever. Love Chase your great grandson.

When God in love and mercy lent to the world a rare and precious jewel, He placed in the arms of Louis Alexander Evans and Mary C. Marable Evans, on February 8, 1950, in Yonkers, New York a daughter named Florenz A. Evans. God graced my life with His generosity and blessings when He birthed you.
I love and will always love you until we meet again just as we met after accepting Christ from the baptism pool. All of our childhood was about God, Christ, family and others. Flo has ALWAYS cared for and about others which makes her soo loving and kind. Her kindness stretches from her family to strangers and those in need of a friend. No matter where she was, she was always reaching out to others with donations and love offerings. When we were in Mexico, she gave a mother holding her small children all of her money and I fussed at her because the money had different value than US, she said, “so what she has mouths to feed.” This is/was Flo. It happened in the Caribbean Islands and yearly contributed to the Eye Ship to help less fortunate get teeth and eyes fixed. She was a benefactor to many other countries including American Cancer Society and Native Indians.
There is soo much love coming from Flo who was quiet, not loud but had a heart full of love. When I mentioned I fell out of bed in my sleep within 24 hours I received rails for my bed. Before I returned home from knee replacement, my brand-new cane was here. Flo was a no-nonsense woman who was straight up and told you the truth to help you, in love. She loved her family and taught her children, grands and great grands how to swim, taking a bus if no car was available. Flo taught them how to bake and cook learning to be self-sufficient.
I was soo humbled to help take care of her in her last days with our youngest sister Marsha, her children and grands. We prayed for her, kept her laughing and kept her comfortable as much as possible. There was NOTHNG we did not do for her. I miss you soo much it hurts. I will feel you in my heart forever. You made it to our Heavenly home before me…but when God calls me, I expect to see you right there welcoming me with Jesus. Loving you continuously Weez, with Jesus, our parents, my son Craig, family and friends Cottage Place friends and relations.

You are the LOVE of my life. Thank you for giving birth to me and being my rock throughout my life. I am devastated and heartbroken that you have gone out of my life so soon. I understand that when GOD calls you have to go but it doesn’t make it any easier. I am delighted that we were able to share a lot of experiences and grow together especially traveling, regretfully we didn’t get to travel more. It gave me the most heartwarming and gratifying experience to care for you during your time with us. It was agonizing to see you in such pain, still I did my best to make you feel loved, and comfortable. You were beautiful inside and out including that amazing singing voice. I am confident that you are resting in peace, and you are in my heart and on my mind every minute of the day until we see each other again, I LOVE YOU.

I want to start this off by saying that I have to write this in letter format, I know that you’ll never be able to read this. But I think you’ll understand why.
Dear Gram,
I just want start off by saying how unbearable and devastating losing you is. I have really struggled with what to say and how exactly I should say it. You know I’m pretty good with my words.
I want you to know just, how incredibly loved and very missed you are. Gram you are such a divine light and pinnacle of Grace and Poise. A bright star that we all have been blessed with your presence.
I often lay awake late at night and early morning, still wondering if you’re okay wherever In the universe you are. Gram I miss you terribly and I hope that you’ve found peace, relaxation and ease on the other side. I have a shrine for you, so that I can pray to you and the ancestors. I keep you very close to my heart every day.

FloJo; Thank God for such wonderful fund memories to always cherish and hold onto of such a BEAUTIFUL Person. You will be truly missed. You became an instant friend to me from The Davis Avenue Crew. Once we found out your birthday was the day after mine, that did it for Us, My Aquarius Sistah, and we continued a friendship forever since. We had such good times especially after work going to "Happy Hour" spots when we were able to drag you out, LOL. Those MEMORIES I will CHERISH ALWAYS!
