Joseph F. DeBernardis passed away at home at the age of 90.

Joseph is predeceased by his first wife, Eileen Marie DeBernardis (Carroll) to whom he was married 34 years. Joseph was also predeceased by his parents, Frank and Carmela DeBernardis (DiBiase), his daughter-in-law, Kathy DeBernardis (O'Keefe) and his great-granddaughter, Jane Aileen.

 

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, MaryJo, of 26 years. Joseph is lovingly remembered by his children, Theresa(William) DelTosta, Philip (Sharon) DeBernardis, Thomas DeBernardis, Michael DeBernardis, Mary(Richard) O'Sullivan, and Stephen(Marybeth) DeBernardis. Joseph is also lovingly remembered by his wife's children, James(Meghan) Mahon, and Brian(Christine) Mahon. He is also survived by his loving sister, Annette Cupo. Also surviving are his 21 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

 

Joseph was born in the Bronx, NY in 1932. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Manhattan College. He worked as an accountant for Yonkers Contracting and Perini Corporation. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #1506 and an active parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Armonk, NY.

 

Visitation will be held at the Oelker-Cox & Sinatra Funeral Home (262 E. Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549) on Tuesday, August 1,2023 from 4:00PM – 8:00PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church (25 Cox Avenue, Armonk, NY 10504) on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM.

Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Yonkers, NY.

 

Memorial donations can be made to Cardinal Hayes High School, 650 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10451 and/or Stepinac High School, 950 Mamaroneck Avenue, White plains, NY 10605.
