Marie DeCandido, also known to many as Mary, passed peacefully on August 22nd surrounded by her loving family.

Born in the Bronx to Angelina and Vincenzo Turiello on January 21, 1927, she was predeceased by her parents and three older sisters, Martha, Antoinette, and Rose.

In 1951, Marie married Philip DeCandido at Mt. Carmel Church in the Bronx. In 1973, the family moved to Yonkers, NY. Together they shared their lives until her beloved husband passed in 1979. Through the years they created a beautiful, loving, close-knit family. Marie is survived by her 4 children – sons, Philip (Maria), Joseph (Donna), Richard (Donna Marie) and daughter Diane, her loving 7 grandchildren, Lori (Mike), Dawn (Anthony), Philip (Tara), Joseph (Renee), Anthony (Lauren), Kristen (Frank) and Alexa; as well as her precious 16 great-grandchildren, Brennan, Brooke, A.J., Andrew, Philip, Serena, Grant, Christian, Natalie, Vera, Blake, Leonardo, Clara, Lucia, Sage, and Ivy.

Before raising her family, Marie worked as a receptionist and switchboard operator but the roles she was most proud of in her lifetime were that of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be best remembered for her loving and kind ways, her wit, and being an amazing cook and baker. Her family was her pride and joy.

Visitation will held at Sinatra Memorial Home, 499 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

A Memorial Mass will be held at The Monastery Church of The Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703 on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by a Burial Ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4199 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY.

Gifts in lieu of flowers can be made in Marie's memory to Sacred Heart Church 40 Convent Ave, Yonkers NY 10703 and must specify, "In Memory of Marie DeCandido".
