We have lifelong memories of Aunt Francie at our house every Sunday for macaroni dinner with mommy cooking (aunt Lena) and talking around the table with Sisters Rosie, Tessie and Josephine. Daddy (uncle Nick) picking the sisters up early in day, going to Woodlawn cemetery to clean the grave sites and feed bread to the ducks in the pond. Mom and sisters coloring each others hair (with Loreal!) and playing rummy with nickels. And daddy taking each sister home at night. I remember visiting Aunt Francie at Alexander’s and she always was able to give us clothes for school. Aunt Francie was my first vision of independent “career” woman commanding the shopping floor and money room at Alexander’s!
I remember Aunt Francie always taking care of her sisters and brothers with the love and protection only an older sister could. She was there for everyone that passed before her and she was extremely close and caring with Aunt Rosie. Her apartment neighbor up to the end. They had a special bond.
Aunt Francie was always first to have a good time- loved parties and weddings were very special events! she would make sure she was dressed to the nines and ready to dance. Very special memories of my wedding.
I learned to live life to its fullest, with happiness, kindness and family first.
We love you Aunt Francie. Always in our hearts with wonderful memories of you and the special place of family. Ox
