Dawn was one of the most fiercely intelligent people I know. How she was able to balance that with an equally fierce love and compassion always amazed me. And you couldn’t say anything sideways about Melo. I feel fortunate every day to have known her and to call her my best friend.

To my dear friend and sister, Dawn ❤️. We met so many years ago. Our connection was immediate and felt like a soul connection. Later we would both talk about how we both felt this deep connection. We shared talks, discussed our work in the practice and also shared highlights of our respective families 's endeavors :-). I miss you so much. I turn to talk with you and you are not physically present :-(. Know that I will hold you in my heart forever. Our connection spans eternity. May your soul revel in God's presence. May your soul receive 100 thousand blessings. May your family receive the comfort, love and peace of the Holy Spirit. I love you ❤️.

As her mentor at FDU, I was always so impressed by Dawn's perseverance despite any adversity, her deep sense of calm (at least on the outside), and her commitment to her family. I'm sad we have lost such a special person.

My name is TONYA WILLIAMS. I am Shawn RayPalmer. Dawn was my son’s Godmother. We meet when we were seventeen. We became instant friends. We had so much in common. The Simmons welcomed me in the family, that’s because I was always there. Thank you for being my second family. After losing touch Dawn still remained in my prayers. I will truly miss her. Sleep now sis. Save me a seat at the big concert in heaven I LOVE YOU MY FRIEND

Many come into our lives but only a few come as a colleague, a teacher, a friend, and someone to call a sister. Dawn was all these and many more to me. We met as colleagues, both of us as residents. Because of her compassion, her calmness, her dedication, and her knowledge in our profession, I did not know she was a resident and referred to her as Dr. Berger. Soon, she told me “I’m a resident too…you can call me Dawn.” She very quickly became my teacher which made it easier for me to continue calling her Dr. Berger. She leaves countless footprints in my every day work. I don’t know when, I don’t know how we became friends and referring to each other as sisters. But with everything I come know about Dawn, it just came naturally. She leaves memories through her support, her knowledge, her comfort, her laughter that no one can replicate.
May You Rest Dr. Berger…Sleep In Peace Dawn

She walked up to me at the retiree luncheon in May and whispered Talbot, are you sharing that coffee, when I turned around and seen her, we hugged, and she sat at my table. Afterwards, we vowed to keep in touch and she came down to visit me in August. No way did I think I would be writing in this book for her. Gonna miss our conversations SIP my beautiful friend/sister in blue

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Dawn. I can only imagine how difficult this time is for the entire family. Although I only worked with Dawn for a short time before she left CHC, we connected as we were likeminded on many things. We had some great talks and several laughs. Dawn was a lovely person, and I am glad I got to know her. May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Dawn at RMSC. In spite of the stress of the job, she was always pleasant. I never saw her upset or angry, always willing to help. May her soul find eternal peace in the comfort of the Lord
