Kitty, I couldn’t have had a better person than you as sister-in-law.
I remember fondly of the first time I met you, a rainy evening at Fordham Prep football field (where Joey was making plays!). Actually, you were the first member of Nancy’s family that I met (...and told later that this was by design). Little that I knew about things to come: you welcoming me to the family, summer days in Montauk, family gatherings during holidays, family special events, the sweets you always shared, Montauk “Lobster Day” celebration (you had perfect attendance), sharing impressions of books read (very recently A Gentleman in Moscow and Lincoln Highway (in your own words...”such a piece of Americana”).
When I think of you Kitty I think of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s words : “...to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”
Beloved sister, amazing aunt, kind heart, generous spirit and always a GRACIOUS LADY.
May your special soul rest in peace!

Spending time with my Aunt Kitty was always guaranteed to be full of laughs and comfort. During my many trips to Montauk with the family, Kitty could be found making sure everybody was happy, full and comfortable. She could be found reading a novel or laughing with her sisters, sharing memories from years past and making new ones. Kitty could be found tending to the house, doing yard work despite our protests to stop working and come to the beach. Kitty could be found quietly and humbly putting everyone before herself all day, and when evening time came, sharing in the laughter and joy of her family. Kitty has touched the heart of everyone she’s met, by being persistently kind, unwaveringly patient and creating an environment where everyone is made to feel special and seen. Wherever she may have got this amazing talent is lost on me, but may her kind spirit linger in every toast we make, every laugh we share, and every Diet Coke we sip on the beach.
