Obituary of Katherine B. "Kitty" St. Onge

Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katherine B. St. Onge, Kitty to all who knew her, departed this life on the evening of April 7. She was born on July 16, 1952 in Yonkers, NY, the third child of James Martin Bennett and Irene Clifford Bennett. She was raised in Hastings-on-Hudson and graduated from St. Matthew's School, Our Lady of Victory Academy and received her Bachelor of Arts from Iona University in 1974. Kitty met her future husband and the love of her life, Joe, at a party near Fordham University in the Bronx on St. Patrick's night 1972. There was an immediate attraction and the rest is history. They married on August 18, 1979 and settled in Yonkers, New York where Joe had taken a job a few months earlier with the City of Yonkers, Office of the Corporation Counsel. Together they raised their family and were blessed with four wonderful children, Irene, Madelaine, Joseph and Patrick. Kitty chose to be a stay-at-home mom although after graduating from college she had important positions both on Wall St. and in publishing, but she decided to put the business world aside and devote her time to raising her family. After her children were grown, she assisted her great friend, Dorothy, in teaching at her daycare/preschool in Greenwich, CT. She was beautiful and smart and family was always the most important thing to her. Her greatest quality of many is that she put everyone else ahead of her and was always there for her family and friends especially when they really needed her. Kitty was predeceased by her parents, James and Irene Bennett. She is survived by her husband, Joseph, her daughters, Irene Briganti (Michael) and Madelaine Lang (John), her sons, Joseph and Patrick, and her beautiful grandchildren, Scarlett, Garrett, Jack and Liam, whom she doted on. She is also survived by her siblings, James Bennett, Mary Russell (Robert), John Bennett (Epithia), Joseph Bennett (Mary), Bridget Sander, Charles Bennett (Mimi), Nancy Fulga (Rick), and numerous nieces and nephews.
