When You lose your Father- for lori and family- Carlos A. Gutierrez 06/05/24
When you were born he was there,
A smile from here to eternity on his face,
And all you thought was how to run from this place,
You learned to walk soon enough,
He saw you grow to be strong and tough,
I know he always sang to you,
I know he always danced with you,
I know he shared everything first with you,
He was the toughest guy your ever knew,
He was always without fail on your side,
Your relationship even in the later years always grew,
He was always more fun than any amusement park ride,
A photo a million photos with a billion smiles,
A heart so warm and so huge-he could hug you across the stars,
He was the toughest guy you ever know,
He would not just take a bullet for you,
He would take them all,
Even if he had to crawl,
He would be your shield or better yet your wall,
It’s impossible not to cry,
I can see so much of him in you,
The competitor is written in your heart,
Something of a life gift from dad,
We forget and remember some things,
We are human, a finite being, living on a planet,
With hopes and dreams,
Your father had a dream, and I think,
Make that I know,
It was the most wonderful dream a man can have,
We come and we go,.
His memory will live in all of us,
But especially in you, this I know,
This I can always trust,
You will always dance a little like dad,
You will always sing that song he sang when he was sad,
And in your times of need,
when you need a father’s hug,
When the path is not clear,
You will feel a familiar tug,
When you lose your father, You will always feel him near.

I remember Mike from living in the same building at 920 Mace Avenue I was a kid and remember Mike was so cool and handsome looking and remember how impressed I was when I used to see Mike and Mary together in the neighborhood they were so glamorous and good looking they looked like celebrities to me, like the perfect couple both perfectly dressed not a hair out of place. My mom and Mary were friends so I babysit for Mike jr and Lori and totally adored them both so after Mike and Mary went out for the evening I would wake them up to play with them, they were such great kids they would go right back to sleep. They were the perfect kids from the perfect couple! I’ll always remember Mike as being a devoted and loving husband and dad and very proud of his family but mostly I’ll remember Mike for his handsome good looks his quick smile and his warm personality I guess at my young age he was the first cool guy I ever knew. Rest in Peace Mike
