Obituary of Michael Angelo Zeccola

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael Angelo Zeccola of the Bronx passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2024 at the age of 93. Mike was born in East Harlem on November 5th 1930. Cherished husband of Mary Zeccola for almost 70 years. Beloved father of Michael Zeccola, Jr. (Aileen), and Lori Ann Ricciardi (Anthony). Loving grandfather of Jenna Ricciardi, Alyssa LeVasseur (Daniel), Laura Viccaro (Nicholas), Christopher Zeccola and proud great-grandfather of Giovanni Viccaro. Predeceased by his mother Angelina Zeccola as well as his brother James Zeccola both from Manhattan. Mike was a Korean War veteran who worked first as a Barber and then a Hair Stylist for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fan who loved all the New York teams especially the NY Rangers and NY Yankees. He loved to laugh and was quick to tell a joke. Although he loved the simple life, he lived it to the fullest for 93 years. Mike easily made friends of all ages and that bond with them lasted his entire life. His biggest joys in life were his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He loved watching them and cheering them on with regards to all the activities they were involved in. There is no question that sports were what Mike really loved and as it turned out Mary also became an obsessed fan. Together they cheered for their teams. We are deeply saddened by his passing and it will be very hard to move on without him but he has taught us that each day is a precious gift and should be cherished. Rest in eternal peace.
