Carmine and I worked together at Carafiello's in Eastchester.
We were waiters together. I got drafted in January of '66 and after 20 months overseas, came back in "68. I returned to Carafiello's and resumed where I had left off. I have very fond memories of Carmine. His kindness, his sense of humor, he especially loved Abbott and Costello, and his work ethic. He was at home at Carafiello's with many of the boys from Villa Santa Maria' Albert Giambelli, Tommy and Mario Mingone and Mimi Marchetelli our chef.
After I left the business my wife Lucy and I would catch up with Carmine, from time to time. He was especially kind to Lucy ordering for her wherever he worked. Whether it was in Eastchester or in Yonkers. His memory remains in our hearts.
