"AUNT RO"
What a name to carry proudly for "83" years. Our daily phone calls gave me a great link to our family history and a special friendship, I will cherish and miss FOREVER.
As I mour the loss of my Aunt Ro, my memories and love go to a lady that really touched my life so deeply. I find myself remensing to childhood memories when I was her littel Mrs.Baroney.Time has flown by, but our lives stayed connected and I am truely greatful and blessed for that. The wonderful holidays we all shared, trips to the casinos, visiting her and many phone calls to get her well kept cooking secrets and recipes. Her well lived life touched all of us in so many different ways, and she will always be our "AUNT RO".
As I say my good byes, tears roll down my face, knowing that the loss and void will never be filled in my heart.
Aunt Ro you are free now of any pain, enjoy my Mom and Dad,Gram and Gramps and Uncle Tom.
Rest in peace,God bless you,
I love and miss you millions.

Aunt Ro___A very special lady and always treated me like family. My heart goes out to all of you. I know she was like a second mother to all of her neices and nephews. May you hang onto all your fun memories and that should put a smile on your face. That's what she would want. She will be sadly missed by many. May she rest in peace.

Uncle Carmine,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of great loss. We will all miss Aunt Ro and the special and loving lady she was. It seems her life was all about caring for and loving others. It was always a pleasure to get a phone call with her distinct, raspy voice on the other line. She would want to know how everyone was and talk to the kids. I will remember fondly all of the wonderful holidays that we spent together, full of fun and all of the delicious food that was ever-present. Who could forget Aunt Ro out on the dance floor with all of the girls at every family wedding? She will be missed greatly.
Our love to you, Patty, Jonathan, Emma and Harrison

When I think of Aunt Ro, I remember how much she made me laugh when I was a kid. I have some very precious memories of my childhood with Aunt Rosie. There was a time she read me a book that was aptly titled "Rosalie". She told the story with such animation and enthusiasm. It tickled me to no end. My deepest sympathies to Uncle Carmine and the entire Family for this terrible loss. I do find comfort in knowing that the Family is gathering in Heaven, welcoming her with all their love. She will be missed.
Love to All,

The saying "nothing has changed but everything will never be the same" is so fitting for me. The world will still go on like before but for those of us that had the privilege of knowing and loving you....nothing will ever be the same. Of course being your "twin" sister the memories span from childhood. There is no way to adequately sum them up. I will miss being able to pick up the phone and hear your voice at the other end....having conversations from everything from family to recipes. Your loss is felt deeply already. I'll cherish the memories as long as I live, sister, Annie

As I flew back home to California,I was struck by lifes ironies..sad that the larger family too often only sees each other for weddings and funerals..In the last week I spent more time in Bronxville than in all the 40 years that Aunt Rosie lived there..I do take comfort in being in and seeing so many places that she so often talked about...The apartment..the building and meeting so many of the tenats that she mentioned...seeing the casino...shopping at Stop and Shop and Macys at Cross County and eating at the Diner and Pizza Beat...her towering presence was missing tho...how she would have loved having everyone there..In the end...her life was like a towering Home Run by her beloved Yankees..a Winner in all ways..we will miss you so much...I have missed you so much already...Love you always Antone

Dear Family ~ I apologize for bringing up the rear! I believe you can chaulk it up to the Miano in me! At least, that was her observation, LOL! But, Cousins Rosalie & Carmine had been on my mind since I heard the sad news from Beloved Cousin Anthony, when he informed me via FB that she had fallen gravely ill, that she was on life support! Then I heard that she had been taken off, and I guess my hope was that no news, was good news! And that she was hangin' in! She had just made a post to my wall a couple of weeks earlier! So all the week, I did not even want to venture to ask her status! Because even from afar, my emotions were tending to be a little raw~ Since, I could not bear to think Our Family might lose another Member of Our Greatest Generation! Another link~ One, who had been such an integral part of my Mom's life~ One of her best friends from childhood years ~ No doubt keeper of many secrets between them ~ happy, sad & glorious memories shared! It grieved me yes, even from afar! Another tie unloosed, to those Bartolottas & Mianos (& Tantillos of course)! Some of my fondest memories, are of that Loving Tribe! How far back do my memories go? Oh, probably back to Carmine & Rosie's apartment in The Bronx! The "old" apartment, not the one in Bronxville, LOL! And when our family was still living in The Bronx, and my Dad would drive us toward Vernon Way, along the Merritt Parkway to visit with The Tantillos, how excited (we) would be! There was the one time, our parents got stuck on the bridge during an ice storm, probably for Christmas one year, when our car spun around and hit the embankment, and The Tantillo Boys (Nephews, Bennie, Anthony, Carmine?) came out to fetch us from where our car was towed! But once we had arrived to The Tantillo's Compound? We knew we were "SAFE"! And invariably as would happen, we would be greeted by all the Aunts, Uncles, 1st and 2nd Cousins, Aunt Florence, Anthony, Eleanor, Rosie & Carmine, etc and so on down the line, from Frankie, Florrie, Tony jr, to Stevie and Patty! :) I'll never forget the saying, "IF IT MOVES, KISS IT!" Any and all "rug rats" were smothered with hugs & kisses (Kids young & old really; Well I don't have to tell "ya'll" that! I'm sure the tradition continues! But the kitchens would be wafting with the smell of Sicilian Cooking at it's very best and tables laden with a banquet of: Christmas Eve Fish Dinner; Orangini; Italian Pastry & Cookies! There would be STORY TELLING, AND LAUGHTER AND TEARS! I believe My Cousin, Your Aunt Ro, was "A Chip Off" that Aunt Florence Block~with her comedic tales! Our very own "Red Head", "I LOVE ROSIE!" <3 "Stop, stop, stop! You crazy~BASTA!" I'll never forget that story, of Gramp & Gram Bartolotta, sliding down in that bucket of an Octopus Ride at Rye Amusement Park! Yes, the stories would rollll, on and on, and the laughter and the tears, too! I CAN SEE ROSIE's shoulders goin' in my mind, her daubing the corners of her eyes, wiping them dry with her hands! I WILL NEVER, EVER FORGET those Loving, Warm & Wonderful Memories shared & will always associate with her & The Tantillos! But you all were so fortunate to have her in your lives, someone so faithful & loving in your corner! THAT, IS A PRICELESS TREASURE! And to think, that Carmine had The Love of His Life in his life, as his Betrothed for Over 60 Years! In this day and age, that is quite a run! The only comfort we can take away from this void Rosie's transition will leave in Our World is, that I have no doubt whatsoever, that ROSIE WAS GREETED WITH LOVING ARMS, HUGS & KISSES on The Other Side of Heaven, with a Celestial Choir of Angels Singing, "HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!" MOM/UNCLE JOE/AUNT MARY, etc. and they're probably still celebrating Rosie's "Homecoming" even now, "HAVING A HALLELUIAH PARTY!", as Uncle Joe used to say! REUNITED yes, with Papa Frank & Mama Florence, Grandma Caterina & Grandpa Tomas, her Siblings, ANTHONY, TOMMY, ELEANOR, the Aunts & Uncles, AUNT MARY, AUNT FINETTE, UNCLE JOE, MY DAD~& YES, REUNITED WITH MY MOM, ONE OF HER BEST FRIENDS & HER "AUNT" GLORIA! I do, take comfort in this! GOD BLESS YOU ROSIE! PLEASE DO, GIVE OUR LOVED ONES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF HEAVEN A HUG & A KISS FOR US! AND LOVE & HUGS from me to Cousin Carmine & all the rest of The Extended Tantillo Tribe! UNTIL WE ALL MEET AGAIN FACE TO FACE!
LOVE YOU ALL~COUSIN DONNA XO
