I knew when I first met you that Teresa, like me, was fortunate to have such a wonderful mother. I believe that Teresa & I became and remained friends because we both came from loving, caring families. We always thanked God for our mothers.I hope that we can pass that much love onto our children.I remember when you first went to stay in Florida.I asked you who would make pizzelles for us. You said that Teresa & I would have to learn. We will try, but I know that they will not taste as good as yours! I will always remember your comforting smile. I will remember how you would always say"Be happy!" I will take care of my dear friend Teresa & stay close to her.I know that you are now an angel in heaven, and you will watch over us.You will remain in our hearts forever.Love, Felicia

Mom, you have been a wonderful Mother-in-Law to me. You always were so warm, kind and generous to me. You never had a selfish bone in your body, and these qualities you have instilled in Teresa, Carol and Nino as they are so caring, unselfish and thoughful just like you raised them. You were always there for Teresa, me and the boys. Mom you were always so vivacious, and made everyone around you happy. You provided that sunshine that everyone of us could use more of. I know you will watch over us from heaven always. Love Dino

I can remember it like it was yesterday when I called you thanking me about the birthday card the night before everything happened. I still have that card right next to my nightstand and will bring it even when I leave this Sunday. I will always remember everything that made you one of the greatest grandparents a child could ever ask for. From the way you always have said my name (in which I can still hear to this day in my head), how I always so you with a smile on your face, the way you made every one around you happy and of course how you brought us all together at the dinner table on special occasions. There is so much I will always remember you by and so much that you have taught me I could go on forever. Just know that you will truly be missed every single day of my life. I love you Nonna

Nino Colantonio posted a condolence
Mommy, I didn’t have the strength to write to You before today and I don’t have much strength this morning to write to You because I am so sad. I may look strong on the outside but You and I know that in the inside I am weak. I get stronger every day but I will never be as strong as I was while You were alive. I know I have my Family and I am very proud of the way we live as a Family because it was You and Daddy that thought me how a family should live and you always pointed out how a family should not live. A part of my Family is now gone and I feel different. I know You are watching and listening while I write this letter and I hope I continue to do things that will make You happy. I ask You to please help me and my Family to stay away from the things that would make You sad. You are now Heavenly and there is no evil around You. We are still earthly and there is much evil around us. We will need Your help and protection against that evil. I think of three things when I think of You: (1) Courage. I thank You for leaving part of Your Family and coming to America to make a better life for Your Family. I don’t think I would have ever had the courage to do that. (2) Hard work. I’ll always remember how You worked so hard every day at multiple jobs during the day and evening and then came home to Your most important job, taking care of Your Family. I remember when I would come with You to one of Your jobs and You would ask me to sweep the floor, or straighten out the shelves, or clean the sewing machines. I know You said the owner was paying me but I also know that he wasn’t. I knew You were taking some money from Your salary and giving it to me. You made me feel special. (3) Unselfishness. I’ll never forget what You told me that day at Teresa’s house when we saved that little girl from drowning in the pool and we brought her back to life. You said, “Nino I was praying that God would take me instead of that little girl.” I’m proud of You and I’m proud of the way You lived your life. I only hope that I can touch as many people as You have touched and do as much good as You have done. Watch over me please and protect me. Watch over my Family and protect us. Everyone that we touch, You touch. Every good that we do, it is You that have done so. I know You are at peace, please bring peace to us. Love You always, Nino.

Dearest Angela, We thank you for sharing your family with us & always making us feel as if we were a part of your family. Whenever we went somewhere with Teresa, Dino, John & Anthony, and we stopped at your home on our way home, you always had a meal ready for us, no matter how hot & humid the weather was!If you knew we would be by ourselves for a holiday, you would invite us to be with your family. Even when we all went to Cape May, you whipped up breakfast in your room! You were always ready for an adventure - Italy, Rhode Island, France, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, Cooperstown...and so many other places. No grass grew under your feet. We especially thank you for your daughter, Teresa, who has shown us such love and generosity. You know we love her children as if they were our own. Please hold a place for all of us up there in heaven where we will see you again. Love, Linda and Fred

Nonna,I will never forget the last time I was able to hug and kiss you. You and the rest of our family were able to make it to one of my last baseball games at school. I felt so blessed to have everyone there watching me do what I have loved for so long. After the game, it brought me such incredible joy to be able to go up into the stands and go straight over to you and share with you what is now such a precious moment. I know that God was bringing us together and I know that you will always be with me. You were so proud of your family and I was so proud to have you as my Grandmother. Your smile was infectious and I will attempt to bring as much joy to others as you did to everyone around you. I miss you Nonna but I know that you will continue to guide me towards the happiness that you always wanted for me. I love you, Matt

Mom-is it true that the Angels sing to you when you are entering the Kingdom of God. I know you must have loved that. This came all to quick for me Mom. I know how worried you were about me when this would happen. I am trying hard to do what you said "Be Strong Teresa, Be Happy." I promise to raise John and Anthony (the Kings) in the exact way you raised me, Carol and Nino. I know how proud you are of the three of us. So proud, you told us all the time. All the beatiful memories are right here with me and boy how lucky we all are that there are lots and lots of them.My favorite memories are all those when we all laughed so hard that your belly would shake and shake. I will continue to put up more and more pictures in the house of the great meemories. I know you loved that. You will live in us. I promise. And Yes, we will all take great care of Dad. I love you so very very much Mom. Thank you for making me who I am today. I miss you terribly but I will be "STRONG". Until we meet again.

I did not know Angela, but I had the pleasure of meeting her family in the waiting room of the Intensive Care Unit at Northern Westchester Hospital, when my father was hospitalized. I was deeply moved to see the entire family there, day after day after day. You don't see enough of this in this day and age.... As they say, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
